We know Texas ain’t just about football.
The University of Texas Sport Taekwondo Team will be hosting the Southwest Conference Taekwondo Fight-Offs for the first time ever. This competition is all about Olympic style sparring. No forms, no fuss.
From college teams like Texas A&M, Baylor, Sam Houston, Rice, national team members, and those ambitious athletes who just wanna throwdown with the best of ‘em, we got some serious match-ups. And a whole lot of action. Most of these schools are preparing for National Collegiates in March and have been training hard throughout the year.
A ranking system will be implemented into the competition for future Southwest Conference competitions. Certified WTF Officials will be running the matches. There will also be a certified medical trainer on board to provide assistance.
Eligibility to Compete:
- Must be at least 17 years old to compete
- College participants must bring identification of enrollment in a university to the event*
- Complete online application before the deadline, February 18th
*If the participant fails to present a form of ID that proves enrollment in college, the individual will have to pay the Non-College Competitor’s ticket price at the door
