About

Since its founding in 1995, the program has established itself in Texas as a strong force in the TaeKwonDo world. The nationally competitive sport team was later created in 2005 by former national team member Tony Smith. The organization consists of a team of hard-working students who follow a strenuous practice regimen and/or anyone who is interested in the sport just to get in shape. Members of Texas TaeKwonDo consist of students, faculty, and staff who range in experience from beginner to black belt.

The Texas Taekwondo sports club is the only RecSports club at UT sanctioned by the WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation), the USAT (USA Taekwondo), and the IOC (International Olympic Committee). The UT Sport TaeKwonDo Club is a club dedicated to teaching and providing a training environment for TaeKwonDo. TaeKwonDo is set apart from other martial arts by its uniquely powerful kicking techniques. The classes will be conducted by experienced black belts. Club practices are every Tuesday and Thursday in RSC 1.104 from 7-9PM. Team select practices and condition vary outside of the club times and can be found out by contacting the Texas Taekwondo Officers. Hook ‘em
